8th Grade Tryouts - 2011 Season

If you live in the Blaine High School boundaries and are entering 8th grade in the fall of 2010, we encourage you to try out for 8th grade traveling football on the following dates:

Monday, August 2nd − Thursday, August 5th
Blaine High School Practice Fields
(located behind the school)
5:30 − 8pm

Tryouts will be held during the annual Blaine Bengal Youth Football Camp.  Please register for the camp (the form is posted on this Website under "camps/clinics").  You do not need to send payment with your camp registration.  The cost of the camp is included in your traveling registration fee. 

After tryouts, the coaches will draft the 8th grade players onto two teams of about 25 players each.   We will distribute equipment after the coaches compile the two teams.   

New this season:  The 2010 season is the first year the BSLPAA will be hiring 8th grade coaches.  Members of the BSLPAA football committee will select the 8th grade coaches in July.  The 8th grade coaches will be working with the Blaine High School football coaching staff to integrate Blaine’s football system into the 8th grade traveling program.  On a side note, Spring Lake Park’s 7th and 8th graders are required to play middle school football.
